Business Development Manager (BDM) – Flexibles

Overview:

Aurora Material Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) – Flexibles to drive sales growth of engineered polymer compounds, with a primary focus on flexible PVC, TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), and specialty materials. This high-impact role will serve multiple market segments, with a strong emphasis on wire & cable.

This is a home office-based position and requires up to 70% travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5–10 years’ B2B technical sales experience in the plastics industry
  • Background in engineered polymers and compounding (flexible PVC and TPE materials strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to gain new business and manage ongoing customer relationships
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time
  • Home office-based; comfortable collaborating across remote and onsite teams

Responsibilities

  • Drive significant growth in the flexible compounds business by acquiring new accounts and expanding existing relationships
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline using technical and value-based selling
  • Develop and execute market and account strategies to grow market share and optimize pricing
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including sales, engineering, product management, and executive leadership—to support customer growth and retention
  • Deliver technical presentations and ongoing support, including new product introductions
  • Monitor industry trends, technical advancements, and competitor activities in target markets
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer account receivables in assigned territories
  • Develop and track annual sales plans, budget objectives, and monthly territory projections
  • Support product management in creating marketing and selling tools
